A SHORT REVIEW
This firm was born in 1967 as a professional partnership type corporation consisting of 3 architects who lived in Santa Fe, but were employed at firms in Albuquerque. The senior partner was Philippe Register. The other partners were Terrance Ross and James Brunet. Mr. Ross left the firm before 1970. Mr. Register and Mr. Brunet remained partners until 1980 when James Brunet retired. Philippe Register continued the firm by himself by himself as Philippe Register & Associates until 1991 when it was merged with Robert Baclawski - Architect.
Robert Baclawski - Architect had been providing Philippe Register & Associates with architectural consulting services since 1986, when Mr. Baclawski returned to the Santa Fe area from Dallas, Texas. Philippe register went into semi-retirement in 1991.
Robert Baclawski worked on a variety of projects during his internship including large commercial (mid-rise office projects), large residential (5,000 sf to 15,000 sf), multi-family (apartments and duplex developments including 2 HUD projects), city planning (city of Euless, Texas) residential remodels and several commercial retail space interior finish out projects.
Robert Baclawski - Architect started in 1984. For the first 2 years the work of this firm consisted of consulting services to architects, subdivision planning, speculative home design and small residential remodels. When Mr. Baclawski relocated to New Mexico in 1986 this firm continued to provide the same type of services with the additions of some small commercial work. Robert Baclawski - Architect and RSB Architects have completed projects in the Santa Fe area ranging from 12200 sf residential compounds. These projects included 3 houses in the La Tierra area, 1 in Vista Redondo, 1 in Casas de San Juan, 2 renovations in Santa Fe, 6 projects in the Espanola area and several projects in other areas of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
The firm has also completed several commercial and institutional projects including 14 projects for the Santa Fe Public Schools, which includes delighting renovations at several schools, a shopping center, 2 medical office remodels, several retail interior remodels, 2 bank remodels and a magistrate courthouse. We are currently in the construction phase of 2 projects at the Las Vegas Medical Center, a small apartment complex, ADA renovations at 2 state office buildings in Albuquerque and Bernallio and an office building. We are in the design stages of 2 site development projects and 2 residential projects.
Currently this firm consists of Robert Baclawski, one associate intern architect, Lorinne Johnson, one draftsperson and a small office staff. This office is completely networked with 4 combination drafting stations and we can expand up to 8 stations should the need arise. RSB Architects is located in a warehouse office district about 2 miles south of the Santa Fe Plaza where we have leased a 1500 square foot office that we share with a clothing design business.
